About RAP Management
RAP Management is the first High-Recycle Technology Asphalt Mixing Plant on this continent. On a daily basis we produce asphalt containing 60% RAP, triple the industry average. We provide environmentally conscious design, construction, and management services for a variety of projects.
Who We Are
RAP Management is a Columbus based, locally owned and operated, asphalt manufacturing business that was founded in 2016 with the goal of making high-quality materials with industry-leading amounts of recycled asphalt content. In the fall of 2017, our first plant was commissioned and in 2018 we produced for our first full season.
Since then, RAP Management has produced and sold nearly 1,000,000 tons of asphalt, reaching full capacity of our first facility. As a result, we are happy to announce our second location will be operational in fall of 2023.
What Makes Us Different?
At our current facility, over 150 thousand tons (300 million pounds) of material was diverted from landfills in 2022, ran through this process, and was used to produce new asphalt materials that were sold back into the Columbus market.
Our new facility that will be open this year will have the potential to increase this quantity of diverted material by over 140% annually for an additional 210 thousand tons (420 million pounds).
Once operational we will be able to annual divert 720 million pounds of material from landfills each and every year. To put this number in perspective, that is the equivalent of 36 billion scrap tires, 24.8 billion aluminum cans or 65.5 billion plastic grocery bags. Every pound of which will be made into a high-quality asphalt pavement and sold and used in the Central Ohio Market. Each pound is also simultaneously offsetting the need of that equivalent amount of weight in virgin materials that no longer need to be mined, processed, and transported as a result.
